Calling all local musicians, bands, DJs, venues and live music businesses. You’re invited to join a new program to support the growth of our local live music scene.
Live and Local is a 12-month program jointly funded by the Live Music Office, Council and the Australasian Performing Right Association and Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (APRA AMCOS).
Participants will benefit from:
• industry-led professional development opportunities
• a live music forum
• live music performances, as part of Creative Open 2024
• alive music data base on Culture Map Live
The program will also connect local musicians and venues.
In its 2023 Year in Review, APRA AMCOS reported the loss of 1,300 live music venues and stages across Australia.
They found that the venue-based live music scene had been ‘decimated’ since 2018, including a 32% loss in live music venues in NSW alone.
Live and Local aims to revive and strengthen the live music industry following these recent years of disruption.
