Northern Beaches Council aims to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of local residents, community groups and events.
Each year Northern Beaches Council acknowledges special individuals and event organisers who make a difference in our community across several award categories.
Nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards are now open.
Award winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on Thursday 23 January 2025.

- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year (65 years and over)
- Young Citizen of the Year (under 25 years)
- Sportsperson of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
Key dates
Nominations open: Monday 9 September 2024
Nominations close: Monday 4 November 2024
Eligibility checks: 5 November - 11 November 2024
Judging assessment process: 12 November - 10 December 2024
Successful/unsuccessful nominations are notified by: 20 December 2024
2025 Australia Day Awards ceremony: Thursday 23 January 2025
