The We Belong: Intercultural Community Leaders Program aims to strengthen connection and belonging across communities, increase awareness and knowledge of differing community experiences, and enhance social and cultural inclusion on the Northern Beaches.
Northern Beaches Council received funding from the NSW Government to support a community leadership program for 14 community leaders from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds. The program focused on developing the skills and abilities of participants in cultural advocacy, community engagement, and leadership, culminating in 4 community-led intercultural projects in early 2025.
Over 9 months, the community leaders took part in leadership workshops before working together on their projects with Council staff and community members. The 4 projects brought the Northern Beaches community together, fostering intercultural dialogue, understanding, and belonging.
