Sam - Place Coordinator, Narrabeen and Frenchs Forest Ward
A fan of the James Bond films as a teenager, Sam wanted to be a secret agent when he grew up. Working as a Place Coordinator on the Northern Beaches is a world away from the life of a spy but Sam says it’s arguably just as exotic.
“The Northern Beaches is a beautiful place and there’s nowhere else quite like it. I feel really lucky that I get to work together with the community to improve our town centres and create vibrant public spaces that people want and will enjoy with their families and friends.
“Whether it’s an upgrade to a town centre or a new public art installation, I’m excited to speak to the community and improve on the spaces that are already loved by locals.”
Sam who recently joined Northern Beaches Council says the best part of his job is going out and meeting people in the community.
“I’m really lucky because I’m not stuck behind a desk all day long; I’m out and about talking to people and listening to their concerns and aspirations for the places they live and work.
“I’m quite new to Northern Beaches Council but I’m keen to sink my teeth into a couple of projects, particularly improving The Centre at Forestville and the current upgrades to the Narrabeen Tramshed Arts and Community Centre.
“If you’re working on a project in the Frenchs Forest or Narrabeen town centres I would love to be involved.”
