If you live on the Northern Beaches, you know you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful open spaces and opportunities for outdoor activities.

From swimming and surfing along the coast, to horse riding and mountain biking in bushland or enjoying walks, playgrounds or skateparks – there are many ways to make the most of the outdoors.

We want to best manage our open spaces and outdoor recreation facilities, so you get the most out of them now and into the future.

That’s why we’ve created the Draft Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy and Action Plan.

So far, more than 4,000 people, like you, have told us what places they love and what can be improved.

This is what a few residents had to say:

“My family and I love to come down to Manly oval on a Sunday afternoon to play ball sports and run around. We don't have a backyard, so this is a great alternative.”

“I would love to see more outdoor basketball hoops in the northern beaches area to make the great game more accessible to kids (and adults) of all ages.”

“I love this area for mountain biking - it’s a great hub for young and old to get together to ride terrific trails and be part of a growing community.”

These ideas have informed the draft strategy which includes almost 200 improvements for our open spaces and outdoor facilities over the next 15 years.

Check it out and tell us what you think.
