Join us this Saturday 26 October from 8am to 2pm to celebrate the 10th birthday of Avalon Car Boot Sale.

We spoke to Waste Warrior, Mel who came to our first ever Avalon market in 2014 and has been a stallholder at almost every event since.

She said that the sense of community spirit on the day and being able to work alongside her sister on their stall made it so much fun.

“But it’s the recycling side of it, that I particularly love,” she said.

“My sister and I were brought up to op shop and go to markets from a very young age”.

“So, you buy something and it might be your treasure, but it could be someone else’s treasure the next day.

“With a market like this, there is no wastage. It just goes around and around and it doesn’t end up in landfill.

This family-friendly event will be offering an array of household goods including clothes and accessories, toys and sporting equipment.

Along with roving entertainment, free face painting, arts and games, local businesses will also be providing market goers with some special offers.
