Calling all comic book fans on the Northern Beaches! Be sure to make a B-Line to your local library this Saturday 5 May.

To help celebrate Free Comic Book Day, all six Northern Beaches Council libraries will be giving away special comic books on the day.

These include Avengers & Captain America, Adventure Time, Amazing Spider-Man, Pokémon, Legend of Korra, Batman and many more.

It’s the fourth year Manly library has staged the event and last year it was held for the first time in two other Northern Beaches libraries, Dee Why and Mona Vale. This year all libraries will be involved.

Free Comic Book Day began in the US and spread to many other countries around the world, where comic book speciality shops give away the books.

The free comic books have been supplied to Northern Beaches libraries by a specialist distributor to be given away on the day.

Northern Beaches libraries supports the initiative to promote reading and to encourage people to visit a library.

Graphic novels, which are basically book-length comics, can be borrowed from the Northern Beaches libraries.
