Energy bills are on the rise, by up to 25% from 1 July 2023.

Many Northern Beaches residents are already switching to energy efficiency measures including turning to solar to reduce their electricity bills.

In fact, last November was a record month with over 300 solar installations on the Northern Beaches.

Recent data shows that almost 22% of houses on the Northern Beaches now have solar, up from a figure of 13% back in late 2019.(1)

This means that more than 15,000 homes now benefit from solar power, collectively saving them over $12 million off their energy bills annually.

It’s good news for our planet too - with installations offsetting more than 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year - the equivalent of 31,000 cars off the road per year.

Savvy residents have also been taking advantage of the federal government rebate   on solar and due to rapidly increasing electricity costs, a solar system could be paid off in as little as three years (2).

Rooftop solar is also a great way to save money on your electric vehicle charging costs.

If solar doesn’t suit, you can still take other smart actions around your home – find out how with our Charge Ahead webpages.

You can also take advantage of the state government’s household energy saving upgrades to reduce costs on your appliances such as water heaters, air conditioners and pool pumps.
