Repairs on the stormwater pipe under The Corso are ongoing. The hoardings have come down for Manly Jazz and construction will continue in line with New Brighton Hotel once the festival is over.

A small section of stormwater pipe located under The Corso has collapsed and produced a sinkhole on the pavement outside The Steyne Hotel. 

Emergency repairs are underway to restore the section of pipe and fill the sinkhole. 

Approximately 8 metres of collapsed pipe will be removed, and two new stormwater pits installed to allow connection with the existing infrastructure. Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily remove two existing palm trees and care for them offsite.  Due to the palms’ poor condition they are unlikely to survive, in which case we will replace them with two new palms once the pipes have been replaced. 

We expect to complete works in time for the start of the Manly Jazz festival in late September.
