Northern Beach’s soccer (or football for the purists!) and venues throughout have come alive for the FIFA Women's World Cup. Our Matildas have emerged as an unstoppable force in women’s soccer in recent years and this World Cup has been no different, with our Matildas winning two of three matches so far.

Supporting the Matildas and our local players
If you’re wanting to support our Matildas, there's no better way than gathering your friends and family and heading to one of the Beaches’ local pubs, clubs, restaurants, or the like. Our local venues are the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere and immerse yourself in the World Cup spirit alongside fellow fans.
If you’d like to support our local female players, referees, and coaches the Manly Warringah Football Association is running a female only ‘Mini World Cup’ tournament throughout the Women's World Cup.
Matches are being hosted for under 8 and under 11 girls at Cromer Park on the same evenings that the Matildas are due to play to bring our soccer community together. The tournament has also be completely organised by women with female referees, female coaches, and female administrators, with the goal to leverage the world's biggest female sporting tournament to help grow soccer participation for young Northern Beaches girls.
Council is proudly funding the Manly Warringah Football Association’s Mini World Cup event through the Events Grants Program 2022/23, and we look forward to continuing to cheer our local players on.
Update: We will be opening Cromer Park on Wednesday 16 August to screen the semi-final, ensuring the community can come together to cheer the team on. Find out more.
