We are rolling out more electric vehicles chargers across the Northern Beaches to keep up with growing demand and to drive down carbon emissions.
Council is currently seeking your feedback on a proposal to install eight more JOLT electric vehicle charging stations.
Once installed, you will be able to charge your vehicle for free for up to 15 minutes in selected locations. They will be powered from 100% renewable sources and are Green Power accredited.
The proposed locations are:
- Barrenjoey Road, Palm Beach (outside Pittwater Park South)
- Berry Reserve Carpark, Narrabeen
- Collaroy Beach Reserve Carpark
- Civic Centre Carpark, Dee Why
- Oaks Avenue, Dee Why (outside 7 The Strand)
- South Steyne, Manly (south of Wentworth Street intersection)
- The Boulevarde, Newport
- Kempbridge Avenue, Seaforth
JOLT is a private company based in Sydney and aims to roll out 5000 stations across Australia over the next 5 to 10 years.
There are currently more than 20 EV charging locations across the Northern Beaches with many more in the pipeline, making it one of the fastest growing areas for EV uptake.
Council is aiming for a 30 percent reduction in vehicle emissions by 2038, as outlined in our MOVE Northern Beaches Transport Strategy.
