Council is seeking feedback on its revised policy to minimise the negative impact of poker machines and online gaming in the community.

The Gambling and Poker Machine Harm Minimisation Policy was first adopted by Council in September 2018. Since then, there have been changes in state legislation and the forms of online gaming now available, requiring a review and update of Council’s own policy.

Our role in gambling reform is to help educate the local community about the services available to support people facing problem gambling and reduce the risk of harm in the community.  Information is readily available on our website including a list of local services and places you can go for support.

We also hold webinars and workshops in partnership with local service providers, so check our website for more info.

Council will also continue to work closely with local clubs and will remain a key member of the Northern Beaches ClubGRANTS Committee, to ensure fair and equitable distribution of funds to a range of community organisations.
