Children from the Belrose Children’s Centre have commemorated Anzac Day 2018 by sending personalised care packages to military personnel currently serving our country overseas.
The packages contained an assortment of items including Tim Tams and Vegemite and were decorated with the children’s ‘poppy artwork’.
The packages are a wonderful initiative from the children and their families in support of our troops stationed around the world.
The idea behind the special packages came out of a discussion the children had about how they could do something meaningful to commemorate Anzac Day.
Distribution of the packages was arranged through the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) and Australia Post.
Children at Dee Why Children’s Centre captured the Anzac spirit by making a large poster for the centre’s foyer so that all families could understand the significance of Anzac Day. The poster included stories about the importance of remembrance.
