Last month, hazardous surf conditions damaged the timber boardwalk connecting Long Reef Beach and headland, forcing its closure to the public.

During the closure, Council undertook major repairs which were completed on a tight two-week program. 

Sections of the boardwalk did reopen on 26 May, with the two beach access points remaining closed requiring further work.

All work has now been completed and the remaining sections have been reopened to the public.
