Beachgoers can look forward to enjoying some of the new facilities at Long Reef Surf Life Saving Club when fences come down soon.

You’ll be able to access the beach via the existing beach track and make use of the landscaped courtyard, tiered seating, accessible public amenities, outdoor showers, public barbeques, and bike racks over summer.

The Surf Life Saving Club will also start moving their equipment into the clubhouse while its volunteers continue to keep the community safe over the busy summer season.

Their new ground level facilities include a training space, gym, first aid room, club amenities and two large storage sheds built for surf craft and rescue equipment. The first floor has a spectacular function room, commercial kitchen and external decks taking in sweeping views of the ocean.

Council will officially open the long awaited $8.5 million purpose-built clubhouse, storage facilities, café and public amenities block in February 2023.
