Children at Manly Community Pre-school had a special visit from former Australian Rules footballer Adam Goodes last week.
Together with his co-author Ellie Laing, they shared their books Somebody’s Land and Ceremony, introducing the children to First Nations history and their rich traditions of dance, family, community and caring for Country.
Adam, an Adnyamathanha and Narungga man, asked the children what they liked best about the books.
Here are a few of their reviews:
I like the boomerang – Sunny
I like it when they painted their face – Sophia and Ivy
I liked it when they were doing the dance – Ruby
I love the bit where the baby stepped in the dog poo - Hugo
Adam Goodes, my Dad is a big fan! - Ruby
