A little known green oasis, Ivanhoe Park Botanic Garden is a pocket of botanic treasure ready to celebrate spring this Sunday.
At more than 150 years old, the heritage listed Ivanhoe Park Botanic Garden is one of the oldest in Sydney and contains more than 400 trees, many over 100 years old that are integral to the tree canopy of the area.
The Garden is both historically and botanically significant also featuring a native bush, rainforest and sensory gardens, an old tramway corridor, war memorial and scout hall.
Cared for by Council and Friends of Ivanhoe Park Botanic Garden, the annual Spring Garden Festival includes tours, plant sales, treasure hunt and world-famous CWA Devonshire teas.
