Northern Beaches Council is hosting several fun, outdoor events in both the lead up to Australia Day and on the day itself.
Locals will have the chance to swim, dance, eat and shop their way to our national day with a series of summer events held across the Northern Beaches.
Commemorating summer and all the things Australian is what this bright and beautiful time of year is all about according to Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan.
“This is an opportunity to celebrate all things Australian with a Food Truck Party, Open Air Cinema, pool parties, and an Australian Made Market, there’s something for everyone,” Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said.
“We love to see people come out and share this great time of year when summer is in full swing and there’s no place you’d rather be than on the Beaches. There’s ample opportunity to support small businesses and celebrate everything great about not only our area, but the country,” Mayor Regan said.
Events kick off on Monday 16 January with the first of two Aboriginal Heritage Walks. Vendors for the Food Truck Party at John Fisher Park, Curl Curl have now been announced with multicultural cuisine and a great Australian music program from local entertainers.. Australian made markets are on Sunday 22 January at James Meehan Reserve in Dee Why with over 50 local vendors.
Tickets are also selling fast for the screening of Oddball at the Open Air Cinema on Australia Day Eve Wednesday 25 January at Winnererremy Bay, Mona Vale. There will be family fun at two aquatic centres on the 26 January as well as music and entertainers in our Town Centres.
