Northern Beaches Council is delighted to welcome surfing champion Kelly Slater back to Manly to compete in the 2019 Vissla Sydney Surf Pro World competition in March.
Mayor Michael Regan said Council was a proud supporter of the Vissla competition and welcomed the 11-time WSL champion back to the competition.
“Kelly has done so much for surfing and his presence at Vissla will certainly draw even larger crowds to Manly’s world-class surf beach.
“Manly is loved by locals and is a must-visit location for international tourists and it is great to be hosting this event again.
“Council has a proud history of supporting surfing events dating back to the turn of last century when the first known body surfing contest was held in 1908.
“Events like this are the perfect opportunity for locals and visits to experience all that the Northern Beaches has to offer so make sure you come down and check out the many activities on offer during the event,” Mayor Regan said.
