Join in some family fun and explore one of Sydney’s most delightful gardens in Dee Why these school holidays.

Children aged 5 to 12 will need a keen eye to spot the clues leading to treasure at one of three treasure hunts being held at Stony Range Regional Botanic Gardens on Wednesday 18 April.

This breathtaking garden is a compact oasis of Australian native plants and is famous for its vivid colours and stunning spring floral displays.

Northern Beaches Council’s General Manager Ben Taylor said kids will need to channel their inner detective for clues to find treasure to take home.

“Will you follow a hot lead or will you be tipped-off? No matter what the outcome, children will be engaged with nature on a sensory level learning about plants and animals in the garden.

“Children will also learn about how climate change influences the plants and animals, and what they can do at home to help.

“Kids will also need to keep an eye out for our special guest, Billy Bandicoot!. This is a very popular event so book in now to secure your spot,” said Ben Taylor.

Children taking part in the treasure hunt will get to explore a rainforest gully, natural bushland and the lush ecosystem of the Federation Cascades waterfalls, all under the expert guidance of Council staff and volunteers from the Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden.

Every child will receive some treasure to take home, and the whole family can enjoy a free BBQ brunch.

Children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
