“Ms Gainsford-Taylor continues to be a source of inspiration and model of strength for girls and women everywhere.

“Northern Beaches Council are actively encouraging individuals and organisations to #PressforProgress by taking action that drives positive change for women.”

Ms Gainsford-Taylor is a three-time Olympian and remains to this day the Australian record holder in the 200-metre event.

Ms Gainsford-Taylor is committed to coaching and mentoring aspiring athletes through her Explosive Speed Clinics, encouraging young people “to be their best and lead a healthy and active lifestyle” and motivating children to pursue their dreams.

“Ms Gainsford-Taylor is also proud to be an ambassador for the Can Too Foundation encouraging people to get fit and raise funds for cancer research.” Mayor Regan said.
