Locals and visitors will be pleased to see accessible walkway and other landscaping enhancements at Freshwater.

Following extensive consultation, we’ve integrated the community’s feedback into the finalised designs for stage one of the Freshwater Beach Masterplan. Works started this week and will be completed in December, weather permitting.

Features include:

• new wider footpaths
• accessible paths
• extra trees and plantings
• sandstone walls
• new seating, showers and picnic tables
• new bbqs, bike racks and drinking fountains
• new timber deck lookout platform

Stay tuned for more information about a proposed boardwalk extension linking McKillop Park with the boardwalk to South Curl Curl.

There’s also new public artworks that will integrate into the coastal landscape as part of a public arts trail along the Coast Walk.
