The Weaving Stories Workshops also kick-off during Reconciliation Week, with the first event taking place on Fri 31 May at Mona Vale. The workshops are part of the 2024 Gaimariagal Festival. During the workshops you will hear captivating stories shared by Aboriginal knowledge holders while learning traditional weaving techniques. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or novice, these workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, create, and celebrate First Nations culture and heritage.

You can also visit the Aboriginal Heritage Office in Freshwater to learn more about local Aboriginal history and heritage. The AHO Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am–3pm.
