This week marked the opening of the much-anticipated access ramp on the northern side of Greycliffe Street linking Manly to Queenscliff Headland as part of the spectacular coast walk.

The 110-metre new ramp was installed with safety and accessibility front and centre.

The new link will improve safety and improve access especially for children, families, the elderly, and individuals with limited mobility.

The project took just over 3 months to complete with minimal disruption to the community.

Two options were considered for the ramp design with a straight ramp being constructed due to its minimal visual impact, the reduced level of rock excavation required, less disruption for residents, shorter construction period, minimal stormwater and service relocations and a significantly lower cost.

The historical staircase at Queenscliff Headland has been preserved as part of this project.

The $1.1million project is proudly funded by the NSW Governments NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program.
