You may not be familiar with the term community battery, but they are an innovation that we will see more of in the future.

Community batteries offer the local community a stronger network which means we can connect more rooftop solar and electric vehicle chargers.  They also offer a flexible alternative to traditional poles and wires and help to lower network costs.

Recently, the Federal Government announced funding to install up to 400 community batteries across Australia with six eligible locations in Ausgrid’s network – including one proposed for Warriewood.

Valley View Reserve at Parkland Way in Warriewood has been identified as a good location to support the grid and wider solar uptake.

If you’re a local resident or community member and would like to hear more about the community battery project, you’re invited to attend a drop-in session to meet the Ausgrid project team, ask questions and share feedback.

The session will be held at the proposed battery location at Parkland Way, Warriewood this Saturday 13 May 2023 between 10:30am to 12pm.

You can also read about the project and share feedback via Ausgrids website.
