Seaforth Oval has provided the community with endless recreational opportunities over the years and Council is seeking your input on a new Plan of Management (PoM) including a proposal to build a new bike park.
The site has many uses already from organised sport including soccer, cricket and little athletics, to exercising your four-legged friend, a playground and basketball hoop, and access to the many trails through the picturesque Garigal National Park.
PoMs are a requirement of legislation and include the need to categorise land, authorise leases or licenses and determine what development can take place.
Before a PoM can be adopted and implemented, Council must seek input from the community on how an area is used and opportunities for improvement to meet their future needs.
The new PoM will incorporate additional Crown land (27,500 square metres) to the south of the informal carpark. This additional Crown land is largely bushland, with a cleared area that is proposed to be used for a new intermediate to advanced level bike park that meets the needs of riders and will compliment the nearby junior level Grove Bike Park.
Seaforth Oval was confirmed as the site for the bike park through the adoption of the Let’s Play! Northern Beaches Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy and Action Plan 2022.
Let us know what you think by visiting our website and take the survey or book a session with the project manager to find out more about this project.
Once community feedback is reviewed, a draft PoM will be developed and placed on public exhibition for further input by the community.
