Lighting is an essential aspect of any theatre and thanks to a newly received grant, Glen Street Theatre will undergo some essential works to improve the much-loved cultural asset.
The new state-of-the-art lighting system will include energy-efficient LED fixtures, advanced control consoles and innovative lighting designs, elevating the visual impact of productions.
These upgrades are expected to reduce electricity and operational costs while providing versatile lighting options for various events and bringing the theatre to industry standard.
Council will match the $71,812 funding provided by the NSW Government. The total funding of $144,000 will result in the installation of 42 LED theatrical lights reducing the current need by over half, resulting in over $25,000 in cost savings annually.
As the home of entertainment on the Northern Beaches, Glen Street Theatre delivered 380 events to over 74,000 attendees in the last 12 months. The Theatre provides a range of live performance genres ensuring something for all ages and tastes.
The grant was made possible thanks to the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program. It aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities by supporting community infrastructure projects that encourage community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
