Potential AACTA award-winning films were in the spotlight at the Beaches Young Filmmakers Comp Finals and Awards night on Thursday 29 August, where a packed house watched an array of mesmerising short films.
Registrations were received from 23 teams made up of over 70 young filmmakers. The entries were whittled down to the top 12 films.
Awards night included finalists’ films from 3 age groups, each winning awards for Best Film, Best Acting, Best Storytelling and Best Cinematographer.
Now in its 20th year, participants in the Beaches Young Filmmakers Comp competed for a prize pool totalling over $7500.
Finalist films showcased a wealth of talented young actors, scriptwriters and cinematographers whose stars are on the rise.
All Finalists’ films will be showcased on Council’s website.
Council sincerely thanks major sponsor and long-time supporter, Miller Tripods.
Further, thanks go to Canon, the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) and Glen Street Theatre for their sponsorship of this year’s Beaches Young Filmmakers Comp.
