The finalists for the 2024 Northern Beaches Environment Art & Design Prize have been announced.
The Prize continues to increase its prominence in the arts with almost 700 entries received this year. Clearly important to Australian creatives, this environmental-focused prize attracted entries from artists and designers from around the country.
The level of entries confirms that the climate, environmental concerns, and the natural world are the key concern of many Australian artists and designers.
Finalists were selected according to a brief focused on innovative and thought-provoking works that respond to the theme of the environment, with an aim to inspiring action towards a sustainable future.
This year’s Prize judges include three renowned experts in their fields, fashion designer Genevieve Smart, industrial designer Trent Jansen and visual artist Khaled Sabsabi, with prize winners being announced on Thursday 1 August at 6.30pm at Manly Art Gallery & Museum.
This Year’s prize money, across the four categories, has increased with the Visual Arts and Design winners each receiving an impressive $20,000. The Young Artists and Designers winners will receive a total of $3,000, and the three People’s Choice winners will receive $1,000 per venue.
