UPDATE: All tracks and trails have been reopened as of today, 21 September 2023.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has issued an Extreme Fire Danger Rating and placed a total fire ban across Greater Sydney.

Given this heightened risk, Council is closing all tracks and trails in bush fire prone areas across the Northern Beaches due to the extreme fire danger rating. You can check if your local track or trail is in bush fire prone land here.

The tracks will be closed on Wednesday 20 September and are expected to be reopened on Thursday 21 September when conditions improve.

Frenchs Forest Showground dog park and Rat Park at Warriewood may be closed at short notice if large animal relocations are required.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service has closed Ku-ring-gai- Chase National Park, Garigal National Park and Sydney Harbour National Park (Middle Head, Dobroyd Head, North Head, Bradley’s Head).
