Meet the winners and finalists and view their thought-provoking works as part of this year’s Environmental Art & Design Prize exhibition, showing now across our three gallery spaces.

The Prize is in its third year, and is a rallying call to action, and a powerful centerpiece in the annual Northern Beaches arts calendar.

Works by 215 artists and designers from across Australia were shortlisted for the annual prize.

The works cover a range of contemporary practices, from fashion and functional design to ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, and film.

To enrich the exhibition, several events will be open to the public including:

Meet the artists/designers

A fast-moving opportunity to engage with the artists and designers as you move around the gallery spaces freely, listening to stories of inspiration and the creative process. Ask questions to learn more about the ideas being explored and communicated through the works on display.

Panel Discussion: Sustainable Design

Hear from some of Australia’s leading designers and design educators: Dr Matthew Harkness, Emma Peters and Dr Trent Jansen, and be part of the timely and important discourse around sustainable design. Following brief presentations by all, Matt, Emma and Trent will discuss the role of creatives to influence, challenge, educate, and generate solutions. The session will conclude with an audience led Q&A.

Come with your questions and soak up the Environmental Art & Design Prize exhibition. The 2023 People’s Choice Awards from each venue will also be announced on the night.
