This year, Manly Art Gallery & Museum will celebrate 30 years of showcasing HSC artworks through its annual Express Yourself exhibition.
Out Front 2024: Thirty years of Express Yourself will be on display from 1 March to 14 April at MAG&M. The exhibition will be opened by Simon Cooper, Head of Studies at National Art School.
For the first time ever, the 30 exhibited artists from 20 secondary schools across the Northern Beaches will be invited to participate in a new mentorship program to support their creative pursuits.
The exhibition will feature a broad range of expressive art forms including virtual reality, digital animation, drawing, printmaking, photography, and ceramics that explore contemporary themes important to young people, such as culture, connection and the environment.
All participants will be in the running for the KALOF People’s Choice Award ($500). Participants going on to pursue arts studies at a tertiary level will be eligible for the Theo Batten Bequest Youth Art Award ($5,000). This will be announced on the opening night of Friday 1 March.
Be inspired by the extraordinary creative talent of young emerging artists right here on the Northern Beaches and vote in the People’s Choice Awards.
