This species is a spreading shrub to 1m high with small crowded leaves covered in rusty hairs. Very hairy yellow flowers appear from November to January. It grows in sandy soils in dry sclerophyll open forest, woodland and heath on sandstone. There are limited recorded specimens in the Northern Beaches area.
This species is listed as Endangered under both the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act, 2016 and Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, 1999.
