A much-branched shrub to 120cm high with hairy stems. It occurs on shaley/lateritic soils over sandstone and shale/sandstone transition soils on ridgetops and upper slopes amongst woodlands. The curved rice-flower has red to yellow flowers from October to May.

This species is listed as Vulnerable both New South Wales and nationally.
