Graphic: How to keep backyard chickens
You’ll need:
Chickens (Aged between 16-20 weeks)
Good quality coop
Bedding (straw or shredded cardboard)
Feeder and waterer
Nest box
Perch
Set up your coop before you bring your chickens home
And make sure your coop is strong to keep foxes out
Change food and water daily.
Feed them pellet and veggie scraps.
And feed them shell grit for good digestion.
Avoid: onion, garlic, avocado, rhubarb, citrus fruits, uncooked rice.
Keep coop clean and compost the straw.
Lock the hens in their coop at night.
Enjoy your delicious home laid eggs.
And enjoy your feathered friends!
