Discover how single use-soft plastics impact our precious environment and re-fashion items into your own bag or wallet. Talk textile waste and upcycle clothes into wearable pouches for baby wildlife rescued by Wires, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation.

The program is led by environment educators from Reshaping Waste, a local Northern Beaches business whose facilitators are passionate about diverting waste from landfill and inspiring future environmental change makers.

Children are invited to participate in the full 3-day program or register for a single days’ session. Suitable for kids aged 7 - 12. 

Program 

Day 2

  • Soft plastic upcycling to create carry bags or a wallet. 
  • Lunch break
  • Textile upcycling to create wearable pouches for Wires: Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation
  • Textile outcome: clothing, bag, etc

What’s provided?

  • All materials, resources and templates provided by the Reshaping Waste team 
  • Staffed by the Reshaping Waste team guiding students through the activities 
  • Safety equipment i.e., googles, gloves etc. provided by the Reshaping Waste Team 

What to bring? 

  • Enclosed footwear suitable for outdoor activity
  • Sun safe clothing + hat 
  • Sunscreen for outdoor activity 
  • BYO Lunch and snacks, lunch is not provided for students.
