A Thousand Prayers / (on the Camino Frances) presents the works of Elizabeth Eastland inspired by her journey of the 1000 kilometre walk along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
Each kilometre I recorded a ‘prayer’ - an observation, a gratitude, a wish - to honour that moment. As I walked, I invited others to join me, so in the end, I had a thousand prayers from pilgrims around the world. Some prayers were simple and others profound, all emerging from stories of loss, love, joy, pain, resilience, humour, and friendship.
This exhibition weaves images from the Camino and these prayers into an installation of pastel works on paper, silks in botanical dyes with coloured thread, and film, creating a layered experience inspired by this life transforming walk.

Hear about their engaging story, and yes, (tears well up) his proposal to her on the last leg.
