Investigation

This field trip has been developed so that Geography students can develop a range of fieldwork skills that relate to acquiring and processing first-hand data so that they can better understand the liveability of Warriewood, the environmental quality and how the wetland, water and people interact.

These field skills may be selected from:

  1. Map interpretation
  2. Catchment model/flood mapping
  3. Biotic water testing
  4. Abiotic water testing
  5. Sustainable housing design
  6. Bird survey
  7. Invasive species survey
  8. Mindfullness walk

The lead teacher and CEC Educator will choose the field investigations that meet their student’s needs. Thus up to 6 classes can participate or, with some modifications, we could consider up to 8 classes. CEC Educators will provide all the equipment and lead the investigations at each site.

Schools may arrive by bus or students can arrange for students to make their own way to Warriewood, by car or public transport. Classes will rotate through sites supervised by their school teachers, following the schedule specifically written for their group size and requirements.
