Please demonstrate your functional knowledge in the following areas:

Do you have a strong financial management and/or audit background, with an understanding of accounting and auditing standards in a public sector environment?
Do you have senior level experience in governance and management of complex organisations?
Do you have experience with local government performance measuring and reporting?
Do you have ICT experience especially in cyber security?
Do you possess a relevant professional qualification or membership (e.g., Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), CPA Australia (CPA) or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA)?
Criteria

By submitting this application I confirm I meet the independent eligibility criteria for an ARIC member in the NSW Government’s Guidelines.

I confirm that I:

Am not a councillor of any NSW council
Was not a candidate at the last election of the Northern Beaches Council
Did not hold office in the Northern Beaches Council during its previous term
Am not currently employed by the Northern Beaches Council, or been employed during the last 12 months
Do not conduct audits of the Northern Beaches Council on behalf of the Audit Office of NSW
Do not have a close personal or business relationship with a councillor or a person who has a senior role in the Northern Beaches Council that may lead to a real or perceived conflict of interest
Do not currently, or have not within the last 3 years, provided any material goods or services (including consultancy, legal, internal audit and advisory services) to the Northern Beaches Council which directly affect subjects or issues considered by the ARIC
Am not a (or have a close family member who is) a substantial shareholder, owner, officer or employee of a company that has a material business, contractual relationship, direct financial interest or material indirect financial interest with the Northern Beaches Council or a related entity which could be considered a real or perceived conflict of interest
Am not currently or have previously acted as an advocate of a material interest on behalf of the Northern Beaches Council or a related entity which could be considered a real or perceived conflict of interest
ARIC chairpersons and independent members must not be undischarged bankrupts or have been charged with or convicted of a serious criminal offence. I understand that, prior to any appointment, Northern Beaches Council will undertake a criminal record and a financial status (bankruptcy) check.
