The east coast low storm of June 2016 significantly impacted private properties at Collaroy-Narrabeen Beach.
In response to this event, Council developed a range of policy responses to enable eligible residents to protect their properties.
In a first for NSW, Council successfully obtained a State Government grant for contributions towards private coastal protection works. And at the meeting of 26 March 2019 Council also resolved to provide funding assistance to all eligible property owners. Following relevant approvals, eligible residents can request up to 20% funding towards the cost of their works with 10% coming from State Government and 10% from Northern Beaches Council.
