There are lots of volunteer opportunities available to help our environment.
Bushcare
Bushcare is all about working to conserve and rehabilitate bushland. There are over 400 volunteers who work at over 80 different sites throughout the Northern Beaches. Most Bushcare groups work at set times through the year, for two or three hours each month. Read more.
Corporate Bushcare
Spend the day working with the Bushcare team to help restore one of councils bushland reserves. Opportunities include removing weed species to aid natural regeneration and planting indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses to restore habitat. To find out more send an email to the Bushcare team.
Manly Dam Corporate Days
Get your staff out of the office and into the bush. Manly Dam welcomes corporate groups from 6 to 60 people willing to plant, mulch, paint and carry out small construction jobs. To find out more send an email to the Manly Dam Rangers.
Manly Dam Mountain Bike Volunteers
Every couple of months we send out a call for 6–12 volunteers to help maintain and restore one of Sydney’s best mountain bike tracks, and have a direct impact on how it’s managed. To find out more send an email to the Manly Dam Rangers.
Manly Environment Centre (MEC)
The MEC can offer varied opportunities if you’re looking for practical experience in the environmental field – and we’re always looking for volunteers. You may find a role in local field work, administration, marketing, projects, research or events. The commitment required depends on the position.
Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden
Volunteers of all ages get together at the Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden to maintain the gardens with plants grown from seeds and cuttings in our nursery. To find out more send an email to the Manly Dam Rangers.
