The peak-hour congestion on our roads reflects our heavy reliance on motor vehicles. While there is a range of contributing factors, people choose to commute by private vehicle in part because of a lack of alternative transportation. Council is working with the State Government to provide better public transport and improve our major roads.
Bus Rapid Transport - B-Line
NSW Government manages the B-Line from Mona Vale to the Sydney CBD. The bus line provides a frequent and reliable services as well as additional car parking spaces at key stops on the route for commuters.

Northern Beaches Tunnel
The NSW Government has started work on building the Beaches Link Tunnel which will connect to the Warringah Freeway, cross underneath Middle Harbour and connect with the Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation at Balgowlah. The Wakehurst Parkway will be upgraded to two lanes each way between Seaforth and Frenchs Forest.
