The Baringa Bush Community Garden was formed in early 2011 around a core team who then organised and attended a Permaculture training course run by the Hornsby TAFE Community Outreach program.
The aim was to design, build and operate Seaforth's first community garden and to provide a valuable recreational activity that contributes to the health and well-being of the wider community by providing a wide range of environmental, social and educational benefits.
We have an organic garden based on permaculture principles. No chemical pesticides and fertilisers are used on the site. We also use gardening methods that are both water and energy efficient. Everyone is welcome to join and participate.
Our garden is located adjacent to a playground providing a fabulous resource for families with children who would like to grow their own food.
