Join local author Lyndy Marais as she discusses her latest children's book, Oscar's Odyssey.

Oscar embarks on an exciting voyage of self-discovery as he collects 'tools' for his 'toolbox of life'. Alongside his good friends he encounters situations which spark insightful conversations with his wise and loving grandma. Together they find practical solutions when it comes to bullies, overwhelming feelings, respecting others, learning from mistakes and the importance of persistence, gratitude, and kindness.

Designed for shared reading with adults, these interactive stories come with discussion prompts to spark open conversations and teach valuable lessons. The vivid details bring the characters and their surroundings and emotions to life, making the stories both entertaining and educational.

Aimed at children aged 7 - 10 years old.

Books will be available for purchase on the day. Payment with cash only.

Lyndy Marais spent over 20 years as a primary school teacher and as a mother of four, and grandmother of four she has always been passionate about helping children build strong self-esteem. Inspired by past courses in counselling, parenting, and a recent writing program with TAFE, she embarked on her own odyssey as an author of children’s books. Her books aim to offer suggestions, spark curiosity, encourage discussion, particularly for children aged 7-10 years old.
