Available for members of our community experiencing homelessness, between houses or simply new to the area, light membership ensures access to library services are available for everyone. 

Borrow up to 5 items and gain access to thousands of eBooks and other e-Resources without needing to provide proof of a current NSW address. 

To find out if light membership is right for you, please speak to one of our friendly staff members at any of our library locations, including Avalon Community Library. 

A full membership enables access to our physical and digital collections and resources. Members can borrow up to 30 items for a period of three weeks. 

Enter your details via the button above and you will be given a temporary membership number. Bring this number into your nearest library with proof of your name and current NSW address to complete your membership. 

You can also join at any of our branches by presenting proof of your name and current address to join on the spot.

There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years require consent from their parent or guardian. If you are under 16 years of age, you will need to bring the signed letter of consent along with your temporary library membership number or a copy of identification showing your current address. 

Library members who are 16 years and over can become a member of Forestville Library 24 hours, 7 days a week.
