Library2U was launched again last week and already over 4,000 items have been delivered to more than 2,000 homes.

So what are we borrowing during lockdown? For adults, thrillers, detective and mystery novels are the most popular fiction genres so it looks like our community is looking for a little escape while we’re staying home. It’s the same for kids with fantasy fiction topping the reservations list.

For non-fiction, we’re loving autobiographies and in no big surprise- cookbooks! So there are some households who are spending this time inside baking tasty treats and whipping up new recipes. Or even baking sourdough for those who might have missed that in our first lockdown.

Children stuck at home in school holidays are also enjoying our Librarian’s Choice selection of children’s board and picture books with 743 of these books delivered so far.

To meet the incredible demand we’ve seen with Library2U, our Librarian’s Choice option has been expanded for all ages, not just children’s books. Tell us your preferred genre or what you’re interested in and let our librarians choose for you. It’s a great little surprise during lockdown and can broaden your reading and viewing experiences!

If you haven’t tried our Library2U service yet, download the Library app or visit our website. The Library app is a great way to keep track of your loans, renew items, browse the eLibrary and much more.

With the extension of stay-at-home orders, Library2U will be extended until further notice.

Please note, you must live in the Northern Beaches Local Government Area and be a current Library member to borrow.
