From extended loans to varying opening hours, a few things change here at the libraries over the Christmas and New Year period.

To help make sense of it all, here are our tips for using the library over the holidays.

1. Download the library app

With the library app, you can easily view your loans and reservations, renew your items and can access the eLibrary.

Download today from the App Store or Google Play Store

2. Check out the eLibrary

We promise there is something in our eLibrary for everyone.

3. Check which branches will be open

All of our branches will close at 12.30pm on Wed 23 Dec with Dee Why, Manly and Mona Vale Libraries reopening on Tues 29 Dec. These branches will also close from 12.30pm on New Year's Eve and reopen on Mon 4 Jan.

Glen Street, Forestville and Warringah Mall Libraries will stay closed for a little longer and will reopen as normal on Mon 4 Jan.

4. Use the return chutes

You can continue to return items through the return chutes, even if the branches are closed.

We will be regularly clearing the return chutes at every library.

5. Collect your Click & Collect requests from another branch

If you usually collect your requested items from Glen Street, Forestville or Warringah Mall, you can change your pick-up location to a branch that will be open over the holiday period.

6. Keep an eye on your due dates

Items borrowed or renewed from the beginning of December have an extended loan period and won't be due back until 6 January.
