This local event is in partnership with St Vincent de Paul, Revolve Recycling, Dandelion Support Network, Fliptech, Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre and the Sydney Library of Things.

Please note:

  • These item/s must carry the PP5 plastic recycling symbol to be accepted.  
  • Thoroughly tap out any soil.  
  • Plant tags can remain on pots.

Raw timber offcuts, flat pack furniture, raw pallets

Make sure you read our guide on accepted and not accepted timber cuts.

Please bring proof of residency. Household quantities only, no commercial or renovation waste. 

Items should be easily be lifted by 2 people and each piece should be a maximum of 1.2m in length.

Remove any protruding nails and screws for the safety of our staff.

All loads will be inspected, and Council has the right to turn away unacceptable items.

Donations for the not-for-profit Sydney Library of Things

The Sydney Library of Things Northern Beaches is specifically looking for the following useful items (quality brands preferred)

To consider if an item is good for donation, please ask yourself: 

  1. Would someone want to borrow this item only for a short period of time?

  2. Is the item in good/excellent condition?

  3. Would you lend this to your neighbour or family?

Prepare for the event

Separate your items into the categories above before you arrive

Group your items in different boxes or bags using the categories above. Pack them into your boot or rear of your vehicle so they can be safely removed by staff.

Drop and drive to the event, and stay in your car

When you arrive at the event our collection staff will unpack your vehicle to get you on your way faster.

What to do with items not accepted?

For household items that are not part of the reuse and recycling event, visit our A to Z Guide to Reuse and Recycling or visit our Reuse and Recycling Map, highlighting all the locations in the local area where you can drop off items for free for recycling or repurposing. 

Alternatively, you could give your pre-loved items away to someone who needs it or try advertising online through Facebook Marketplace, Freecycle, Gumtree, Trading Post or eBay.
