Learn a new skill and replace plastic party decorations or add a pop of colour to your everyday décor with this reusable pom pom garland.
Included in your kit:
- 4 x pom pom makers
- 8 x yarn colours
- Threading needle
- Garland string
What you will need:
- Scissors
Method:
Use the yellow pom pom maker to create this garland.
- Open the arms of the pom pom maker. Inside you will see the metal peg and the two sides of the maker, these are designed to come apart.
- Starting with the maker arms open begin wrapping the yarn. When adding the yarn, you can wrap as much as you would like, the thicker you wrap the yarn the thicker your pom pom will be. Once finished cut your yarn.
- Close the arm with the yarn on it and repeat on the other maker arm with the similar thickness of yarn.
- Now that both sides are full of yarn, close the arms.
- Holding tightly, place your scissor in the end groove of the pom pom maker and start cutting the yarn, going all the way around the circle making sure all small yarn threads have been cut.
- Cut a 15cm piece of yarn for the tie. Wrap the tie through the centre of the pom pom maker, pull tightly and tie in a single knot then turn the pom pom maker and tie again in a double knot. Trim the excess yarn.
- Gently open each arm, pull the pom pom maker apart from the centre releasing the pom pom. Fluff your pom pom and trim the uneven yarn off with scissors.
- Take your plastic threading needle and thread your garland twine.
- Feel for the knot in the middle of your pom pom and using your needle, thread through. Continue until you have eight rainbow pom poms on your garland.
