The faces that fascinated Dattilo-Rubbo so much live on in this extensive collection of oil portraiture, that makes up a large part of the Dattilo-Rubbo holdings at MAG&M.
Portraits of old men take up a large part; as Tom Bass pointed out, Dattilo-Rubbo was fascinated with the old face. However, students and young women also caught the his eye, and stereotypes - the worker, the jackaroo, and the friar. Dattilo-Rubbo's self-portraits reveal the artist's perception of himself in various stages of his own life.
